First Holy Communion is such a meaningful milestone, and Joseph’s portrait session at Drum Hill Studios in Martinsville, NJ was the perfect way to capture it.
We planned the session to be a mix of indoor and outdoor portraits, which gave us a beautiful variety of looks and moods. Inside the studio, the focus was on classic, timeless images. Joseph looked so sharp and confident, and the indoor setting really highlighted the significance of the occasion—clean lines, soft light, and a calm, reverent feel that works perfectly for Communion portraits.
Once we moved outdoors, the session took on a more relaxed and joyful tone. Drum Hill Studios has such lovely natural surroundings, and the outdoor light added warmth and life to the images. Joseph was comfortable and natural, and it was wonderful to capture those genuine expressions that come out when kids can just be themselves.
I always love sessions like this because they balance tradition with personality. Joseph did an amazing job, and the combination of indoor elegance and outdoor charm made his First Holy Communion portraits truly special.
These portraits will be a beautiful reminder of an important day—for Joseph and for his family—for years to come.
